If online order was hard enough, as a consumer, if you are not diligent in looking for a local flower shop you pay far more than what you receive. To add to the difficulty now, FTD was bought out by an online order gathering company (From you flowers, Send Flowers and a few others fall under their umbrella) FTD a once highly recommended company has had troubles in the prior years and now they will be run by an order gathering company. What this means is once again, you will be paying a lot of money to get very little from the actual filling florist. As i stated in an earlier blog, as a filling florist we only receive the cost of the arrangement (ie 49.99, 59.99 etc) and all other fees you pay to that company that company keeps and out of the cost of the arrangement we are allowed to remove our delivery fee plus all other costs that are incorporated in order to receive and fill your order. Some of the companies charge the filling florists monthly service fees to accept the orders, plus the charge a commission on each order, the charge for the filling florist to receive the order, plus they charge us to use there programs to receive orders and send orders, and in the end to all of this as a filling florist after all fees that are assessed to us, we are lucky if we actually receive 50% of the actual price of the original order therefore as a consumer you are lucky if your recipient receives 50% of the value also. PLEASE PLEASE BE DILIGENT IN SEARCHING FOR FLORISTS IN THE AREAS THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEND TO IF YOUR LOCAL FLORIST IS UNABLE TO ASSIST. When my clients call, if I am unable to assist, I will give the names and numbers of shops in the areas that they are looking at sending. I believe in customer service and giving the best I can.
